Stephen, a graduate of the University of London, was articled to a local firm and was admitted as a solicitor in 1982. He has an extensive local knowledge having lived and worked in the local area for over 50 years. He has had a varied legal career initially specialising in commercial contract disputes and family matters. Stephen now specialises in commercial and residential property, Wills, Probate, Inheritance Tax planning, Court of Protection and Advising the Elderly.

Lorraine qualified in 2002, joined Kennard Wells in 2003 and specialises in family and housing law, with a particular interest in emergency remedies such as Non-Molestation Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders, and applications for re-entry in cases of unlawful eviction. She does pro bono work at Stratford Citizens’ Advice Bureau and for a telephone advice line, Rights of Women. Her spare time interests are walking, local history, reading, music, animals, cooking and trying to improve her Spanish.
Alan worked in his cousin’s legal office in the school holidays and was Articled there after graduating from the University of London. Initially specialising in Crime and Litigation, Alan moved on to Conveyancing, Wills and Probate in 1975. More recently Alan has added Lasting Powers of Attorney and dealing with the problems of the Elderly to his specialisms.
Alan attended Bancroft’s School, Woodford, as did his three daughters, and his wife teaches there. Alan is still very active in the School and devotes the rest of his time to his family, gardening and foreign travel.
